SSL (secure sockets layer)
Secure Sockets Layer are security protocols that establish authenticated and encrypted links between servers and browsers. If you visit a website and need to enter the details for your request, the website should ensure the safety of the transferred and used data. Thus, such a facility can eliminate data misuse and strengthen a healthy user experience. SSL can only be implemented for websites with an SSL certificate, which is like an ID card and displayed on the website’s or application’s server. It is understood with the HTTPS format over the URLs.
Nowadays, SSL has been replaced with TLS( Transport Layer Security), as the last update of SSL 3.0 is considered insecure and is criticised for its malfunctioning and vulnerability. Yet, TSL is recognised as SSL encryption, which isn’t supposed to be. Therefore, if you’re looking for secured website encryption, TLS is ensured.
