The metaverse is a broad term referring to future communication on the Internet through a network of 3D virtual worlds. Users represented by avatars can explore, socialize, and conduct economic activities within these virtual spaces. The metaverse concept relies on virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies to create a sense of immersion and presence.
Although the metaverse doesn’t exist in a proper form, various online games, virtual platforms, and social spaces offer a glimpse of what it might become. Creators claim the metaverse is a revolutionary way to connect, learn, and conduct businesses. However, there are also concerns about privacy and addiction in these virtual environments. Since the project is at its developmental stage, it remains to be seen how the concept will evolve in future.
