Keywords

What are keywords?

Keywords are those terms and phrases that users use to search on the Internet. If the user searches for a product like “oxidised jewellery”, that becomes the keyword, and we generally call it a “short tail keyword”. If the user specifies the search by “oxidised jewellery in India”, it can become a long-tail keyword where the product is specified, and relevant searches appear accordingly.

Why are keywords important in SEO?

As they are also known as “search queries”, it cannot be missed that they can provide clarity for various content. For SEO activities, keywords are used when analysts want to make a particular term or phrase rank when they are searched. By ranking, we also mean that certain sites are also being visible to the users in the SERPs. In the process, keywords relate more to the search queries, which in turn can help in creating relevant content and make it visible.

Commonly, it’s known that there are short-tail keywords which are much used and competitive and it’s pretty difficult to rank a page. Therefore, long-tail keywords are used to make it better for pages that want to attract people for a specific keyword/query. Thus, users can reach the site they want, and analysts can learn more about the website visit.
