Behavioural Targeting
What is Behavioural Targeting?
Behavioural Targeting is a technique used for marketing where audiences are targeted, and ads are personalised to attract users. The ads are created by considering factors like visitor clicks, searches and purchases. Several platforms have options to store these factors as data so that audiences can get what they want within a specific period.
You may be familiar with options on most websites, such as cookies, browsing history, search queries, etc. Data collected, thus, is used to create advertisements that can click the user’s mind. Today, it has become very common for online advertisers to rely on this idea as it can ensure that they market their products.
However, this idea is fading as there are concerns about how it works and raises issues like privacy and data protection. As their data is felt to be used for marketing, the users feel more uncomfortable engaging than they used to when this wasn’t the case.
