Crawler
What is Crawler?
Crawler is a program/activity in which search engines like Google visit websites and review their content with their bots. Based on certain algorithms, such as keywords, backlinks, and so on, websites tend to get the attention of search engines, which are used to index and rank them later.
Google has its main bot, Googlebot, which deals with mobile and desktop crawling. There are also other Google bots, such as Googlebot Images, Googlebot Videos, Googlebot News, and AdsBot.
The main function of bots is to explore several web pages and links. If the content is updated, the same bot can again crawl and store the data from the pages it’s visited. The crawlers look through the content of the pages and later index it. In SEO, crawling is very significant, as most of the content is organised and posted based on how it may get crawled and ranked.
