Domain name
What is a Domain name?
Domain names are the addresses of websites, which can help users reach the correct location of a website when they do a search. It’s because a domain name is a part of the URL, and the name of a brand is mainly attributed to the domain name.
The domain name consists of a Top-level domain(TLD) and a Second-level domain (SLD). The TLD is the most common name, such as “.com,” “.in,” “.org,” “.net,” etc. The SLD is used to specify any element. For example, for a Google website, if the domain name is “google.com,” Google is used as the 2LD.
It can also be used as 3LD if the “google.com” is more specified as “google.co.in”, here
- “ .in” is the TLD.
- “.co” is the 2LD.
- “google” is the 3LD.
