Keyword stuffing is the method of adding keywords excessively to drive more traffic and rankings. It’s generally considered to be a black-hat SEO strategy with the manipulative idea of keyword usage in pages and sites.
What’s the role of keyword stuffing in SEO?
It is assumed that with more keywords, the content gets visibility and organic traffic. And the term “keyword stuffing” gets a little manipulative with this assumption which gives way to adding keywords beyond a certain extent. After adding the keyword beyond that extent, Google crawls and indexes, which gives way to losing rankings of that particular website or page, which used to have decent rankings than it has earned now.
In other words, keyword stuffing has been listed in the black hat SEO strategies which is a manipulative technique of earning rankings. As Google has understood this strategy, it has stressed the relevance of content rather than the usage of keywords. There is this reason that added keywords have not been relevant to the content and used for the sole purpose of ranking.
