There were around 234,500 apps from Blackberry world, 66,900 apps with Windows play store and about 60,000 apps from Amazon’s App store.
By the year 2020, the total global mobile app store revenue is expected to hit US$71.7b when compared with US$29.2b and US$36.2b in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
An American user spends around 46 minutes on an average per month in the Google App Store, while the average time per month spent by a user is around 33 minutes on the Apple App Store.
The channels that brought about the maximum app searches for US users as observed in June 2017 and June 2016 include:
Twenty percent of users reach the app store through searches, which is lesser when compared with twenty-one percent of users that reached the app store in the year 2016.
Thirteen percent of users found about this as it was featured or topped the list in the app store which is one percent lesser than that in the year 2016.
Fifteen percent users came to know about an app via recommendations from a family member or a friend, which is one percent less than that in the year 2016.
Ten percent of users came to know about an app through social media channels, reviews or comments, which is again one percent less than that in the year 2016.
The people who came to know about an app through mediums such as the news or print or TV shows account for 8%, which is the same in the year 2016.
The users who came to know about an app through websites account to about 10%, which is one percent less than that in the year 2016. Users who reached an app through ads on TV or other devices account for 6% when compared to 9% in the year 2016.

The number of available apps on Google Play Store as of September 2017 is 3,500,000 when compared with 500,000 in 2009. Whereas the number of available apps for Apple App Store is around 500,000 in 2008 and by January 2007, it reached as far as 2,500,000.
The number of new apps released in the Apple App Store is around 211,873 as of 2010. This has spiked up to 1,059,877 in the year 2017.
In the year 2010, the number of new apps released in the Google Play Store accounts to 9,739. This has gone up to 1,313,045 by the year 2017.
By the year 2017, there were 3,600 active apps. It is expected to go up to 5,060 by 2020.
The average app price is US$1.02 in the year 2017.
It was at US$4.4b in the year 2014. This went up to US$9.8b in the year 2017. In the year 2019, it was US$13.8b.
